Weekend #3 - Atlanta Part 2

This is the biggest aquarium (by volume) in the world!

I must say that it's pretty cool. It has your standard stuff and on top of that it has belugas, penguins, otters, touch pools with rays and sharks, an amazon river running up over your head, walls full of fish and this wonderful whale shark tank. There are four whale sharks but apparently the tank can fit eight - almost unbelievable when you see how big they are. Don't be fooled by the pics, they may look small - but it's all a matter of getting the right reference point.

Weekend #3 - Atlanta Part 1

Welcome to the All-Stars Skills Competition!

Only this far south can you get tickets to an all-star hockey show the day before - check out the seats we got! It was pretty cool seeing all the different team's jerseys on the ice and all the different mascots running around the stands. I didn't quite understand the cheerleaders, it just doesn't seem very "hockey-like" - but maybe that's a southern thing.

Weekend #3 - The Lounge

Here I am in the lounge :)

My best bud got me this card you see and that means I can hang out here before the flight. Not a bad place, lots of food and drinks this time around - we had breakfast and lunch! It is weird though, there are so many people with cell phones here and they stand right in front of the "no cellphones" sign and chat happily away. Maybe all the cellphone use messes with their brains a bit...

Weekend #2 - South Beach

Welcome to Miami!

We totally lucked out with the weather this weekend the first day was gorgeous (25oC atleast), the second day was a bit rainy but a good temperature for walking around when you have to lug a backpack (notice how the beach is completely empty?). We stayed in the Art Deco district - which you can see here by night. I'm not sure what the big appeal to south beach is - after an afternoon you've pretty much seen all there is to see - but it is neat for a day away.
