Chicago - Home of deep dish pizza and other wonderful things :)

As is typical of many trips involving flying we were delayed, and there really is only one thing you can do when you are sitting parked in the middle of the tarmac...EAT!

All good trips must start out on a full stomach and Chicago is no place to make an exception. We start our trip with a meager breakfast at Ronny's Steakhouse which happens to be right next to the El (do I sound like a local or what?).



to keep our energy levels up of course we had to have cheesecake...


and deep dish pizza!


Now Chicago isn't just about food.
They have luxury hotels...


They have beaches...

Big buildings...

Big buildings with great views of beaches...

Funky Buildings...




Pretty Parks...


and Giant Silver Jelly Beans.


Of course every city has it's quirks and chicago is no exception. They are very clean and they completely expect the tourists to help out. This might take me a while...

Montreal

Hi Everyone

This trip was more of a weekend away since my bud was at a conference, but I got to stay in a nice hotel, watch a movie being shot and of course I cannot forget the food.

First of all, the hotel view...your typical big city downtown


The underground...very surreal. No advertising anywhere! Toronto could learn from this!




The essentials: Steak Frites, Poutine and Smoked Meat

Sorry no pics of the food at the first place but I HIGHLY recommend it. It's a local hangout in old montreal and it's really reasonably priced. You get steak and frites (of course) and veggies. Recommend the peppercorn sauce. Tres Yummy!
